The Seven Stars is located in the village of Thornton Hough
on the west side of the Wirral peninsula. It is easily reached
from Junction 4 of M53 motorway, being only a five minute drive
away, and the A540 Chester High road turning off at Parkgate
Lane and following the signs to "Thornton Hough".
From either route the village is well sign posted.
From Junction 4 of the M53:
From the northbound slip take the 1st (immediate) exit of the
roundabout, from the southbound slip take the 4th exit of the
roundabout. Follow on down Mount Road (B5151) past Clatterbridge
Hospital. At the roundabout (Drayton Motors in the middle) take
the 1st exit on to Clatterbridge Road continue for approx. ½
mile. At the 1st major junction turn right onto Thornton Common
Road (B5136). Stay on this road for approx. 1 mile and you will
enter the village of Thornton Hough. The Seven Stars is situated
on the left at the junction with Church Road.
From Chester direction on the A540:
Traveling northbound on the A540 travel up as far as the junction
with Liverpool Road, this junction is controlled by a number
of sets of traffic lights and has a petrol station and day nursery
on the left hand side. At the second set of lights, move into
the right filter, turning into Liverpool Road (B5136, later
changes to Neston road), follow this road for approx. 1½
miles into Thornton Hough. The Seven Stars is situated on the
right.
From Heswall direction on the A540:
At Gayton roundabout (Shell petrol station) take the 2nd exit
onto the Chester High Road (A540), continue along for approx.
1mile before making a left turn onto Parkgate Lane. Travel the
length of Parkgate Lane, turning left onto Neston Road (B5136).
Continue along Neston Road for approx. ½ a mile, The
Seven Stars is situated on the right.
